The submission period to enroll in our 2nd Viseu International Piano Competition has started. If you are under 30 years old you have until April 15th to make your participation official and compete for a chance to win the first prize of 8.000€. Besides the monetary prize, the winner of the competition will also perform in the 11th Viseu International Spring Music Festival (2018); in Paris, at Salle Cortot, for Animato Society (2018) and others places still to announce.

For the runner-up we have a prize of 3.000€ and the last place in the podium will take home 1.500€. The audience will have a chance to give an award of 500€ to their favorite pianist. For the Best Portuguese in the competition there is a 500€ prize also.

Despite its age, the 2nd Viseu International Piano Competition is highly regarded for its quality. The first edition, in 2015, was been won by Aristo Scham who then went on to win the New York International Piano Competition. The 2nd place belonged to Jiacheng Xiong (China) and DongJun Miao (China) took the 3rd place. Vasco Dantas Rocha got the prize of Best Portuguese in competition.

This year, the competition will gather all the participants in Viseu (Portugal) on 25th of April and start the next day and ending on the 29th. All the rounds will be open to the public.
