After 28 shows this 2016’s edition ended beautifully
In total, this year’s edition counted 28 shows where local talent had the occasion to flourish and where well renown artists shared their gift. Also, the organization has the pleasure to announced that, through the 13 spaces the concerts took place we got an average of 90% of the sits filled, with many of them to sold out days in advance. This incredible turn out fills us with pride and is an inspiration to improve with every step. Thank you.
It’s also important to remember that we’re not only here to promote concerts. The masterclasses and workshops were very well received by the students who quickly subscribed and attended. With pedagogic concerts we had the opportunity to share and explain music in to people who otherwise couldn’t have visit us, namely: Viscondessa São Caetano Nursery Home, Viseu’s Regional Prison Facility, and seven different schools.

This last day ended beautifully with the final of our 2nd Viseu Internacional Guitar Competition where Davide Giovanni Tomasi (Italy) took the podium followed by Marko Topchii (Ukraine) and Raphael Feuillatre (France). Ruben Bettencourt (Portugal) won the award for Best Portuguese Guitarist.
A big thank you to all our partners without whom this Festival couldn’t exist, but the biggest thanks of all goes, again, for our public, for given us a reason to continue.
